Meet the founder
Jessika Gatewood is the Owner and Principal Designer of Gatewood Designs. She was born and raised in Greenville, Texas which is a small farm town near Waco and Dallas, where her love for home and craftsmanship first began. In 2005, she moved to Tri-Cities Washington, where she met her high school sweetheart. They married soon after and built a life rooted in family, creativity and faith, a foundation that would one day grow into Gatewood Designs.
Jessika has carried a passion for interior design and architecture for as long as she can remember. Even as a child, she felt drawn to beautiful spaces and the way thoughtful details could shape the feeling of a home, a sense of purpose she often attributes to God’s guidance in her life. That early fascination grew into a lifelong pursuit of design, guided by her natural eye for composition, her relentless work ethic and her unwavering vision.
Her aesthetic is shaped by a deep appreciation for classic architecture, European influence and the romance of old-world craftsmanship. Jessika creates homes that feel layered, refined and warmly expressive, blending timeless materials with character-rich details that honor the soul of a space. Her work reflects a belief that beauty should feel lived in, meaningful and deeply personal.

Meet Phil
Phillip Gatewood is the Co-Owner and Director of Operations for Gatewood Designs. A natural leader with a keen attention to detail, Phillip plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations and financial management of the business. With a career that began in the nuclear industry in 2012, he developed exceptional leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of quality assurance and precision—qualities that are essential in the world of design.
The rigorous culture and high standards of the nuclear field instilled in Phillip a focus on excellence and accountability. These attributes have proven invaluable in running a successful design firm, where he ensures that every aspect of the business, from project timelines to financial oversight, is executed with the same level of meticulous care. Phillip’s expertise in both operations and finance has helped Gatewood Designs grow while maintaining its commitment to client satisfaction and exceptional service.
Meet Rachael
Rachael is our talented Design Assistant. Rachael keeps our projects running smoothly, managing administrative tasks and keeping our team organized and on track. She’s also a talented artist, creating custom artwork that adds a unique, personal touch to every space we design.
She combines her background in account management with a love for art and custom design to assist in creating interiors that are both thoughtful and personal. With years of experience managing projects and clients, she knows how to keep things organized, on track, and stress-free. Her creative roots in fine art and custom creations bring a unique perspective to her work, balancing function with beauty in every space. From organizing the details to bringing custom art to life, Rachael ensures every project is seamless and inspired.
Rachael loves spending her free time being active in nature and going to farmers’ markets with her husband and their sweet dog, Rosie. Both enjoy a variety of creative outlets, including woodworking, painting, cooking, and sewing, that naturally feed into Rachael’s art and design work, bringing fresh inspiration, hands-on creativity, and a thoughtful touch to every project.

Emily is our talented Design Assistant, plays a key role in bringing your design vision to life. Specializing in 3D renderings, she helps clients visualize their spaces with clarity and precision before construction even begins. Her ability to translate concepts into detailed, immersive visuals ensures that every design decision is made with confidence and excitement.
Beyond her technical expertise, Emily is a master of organization, ensuring every project runs smoothly. Her passion for keeping things tidy spills over into her work, making sure no detail is overlooked. When she's not crafting renderings or coordinating design details, you'll likely find her immersed in her love of sports—especially football and UFC—or enjoying her other creative outlets, like music and writing.
Emily's dedication to both the creative and organizational aspects of design makes her an invaluable part of the Gatewood Designs team, helping to create beautiful spaces with ease and efficiency.
