Meet the founder
Jessika Gatewood is the Owner and Principal Designer of Gatewood Designs. She was born and raised in Greenville, Texas which is a small farm town near Waco and Dallas. In 2005, she moved to Tri-Cities Washington where she met her high school sweetheart. Shortly after meeting, they decided to get married and start a family together. Their journey in life has led them to create Gatewood Designs and run their family-owned business.
Jessika has always had a passion for interior design and architecture. She always knew even as a child, that she had a love for interior design and knew that one day she would find herself fulfilling her dreams of doing that for others. Her talent of endless ideas & inspiration, relentless work ethic, & unwavering vision is what makes her so unique.
With a focus on creating inviting and inspiring homes, Jessika’s designs blend of modern elegance with timeless appeal. Her style is best described as earthy organic, modern, and traditional, capturing the essence of fresh, livable luxury.
Meet Phil
Phillip Gatewood is the Co-Owner and Director of Operations for Gatewood Designs. A natural leader with a keen attention to detail, Phillip plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations and financial management of the business. With a career that began in the nuclear industry in 2012, he developed exceptional leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of quality assurance and precision—qualities that are essential in the world of design.
The rigorous culture and high standards of the nuclear field instilled in Phillip a focus on excellence and accountability. These attributes have proven invaluable in running a successful design firm, where he ensures that every aspect of the business, from project timelines to financial oversight, is executed with the same level of meticulous care. Phillip’s expertise in both operations and finance has helped Gatewood Designs grow while maintaining its commitment to client satisfaction and exceptional service.
Meet Jan
Jan is our accomplished Project Manager, bringing over 30 years of professional experience to Gatewood Designs. With two engineering degrees under her belt, Jan discovered early on that her true passion lies in project management. Her technical background serves as a strong foundation for her leadership, allowing her to guide complex projects with precision and clarity.
Jan excels at managing design projects, ensuring every detail is executed flawlessly and that clients' visions come to life. Over her career, she has led numerous multi-million-dollar ventures, collaborating seamlessly with a wide range of skilled professionals—from architects and electricians to finish carpenters and general contractors. Her exceptional work has earned her recognition from both clients and peers alike.
Outside of her professional life, Jan loves spending quality time with her adult children and grandchildren, enjoying family games and water sports. She is also an active member of the Project Management Institute, staying at the forefront of industry best practices to continuously deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Meet Emily
Emily is our talented Design Assistant, plays a key role in bringing your design vision to life. Specializing in 3D renderings, she helps clients visualize their spaces with clarity and precision before construction even begins. Her ability to translate concepts into detailed, immersive visuals ensures that every design decision is made with confidence and excitement.
Beyond her technical expertise, Emily is a master of organization, ensuring every project runs smoothly. Her passion for keeping things tidy spills over into her work, making sure no detail is overlooked. When she's not crafting renderings or coordinating design details, you'll likely find her immersed in her love of sports—especially football and UFC—or enjoying her other creative outlets, like music and writing.
Emily's dedication to both the creative and organizational aspects of design makes her an invaluable part of the Gatewood Designs team, helping to create beautiful spaces with ease and efficiency.
