When we began designing this project, the vision was never to create a typical med spa. The goal was to shape an experience from the moment you walked in — something warm, calming, and elevated without feeling intimidating.
Our client’s heart for her work guided every decision. SKNN was an extension of the care she wanted to offer, and we wanted the interiors to reflect that same sense of intention.
We moved away from the expected aesthetic of medical spaces and leaned into materials that felt natural and timeless. Soft plaster, warm wood, honed stone, and layered textures created a quiet depth where nothing needed to feel overly polished. The beauty was in how everything worked together.
The reception desk became the anchor of the design. Its gentle form set a residential tone, creating a welcoming focal point and reinforcing the idea of SKNN as a retreat.
From there, each room unfolded with the same philosophy — connected, but not overly matched. The palette stayed soft and organic, allowing every space its own character.
We wanted guests to immediately feel they were somewhere different. Somewhere they could slow down, feel cared for, and experience beauty in an effortless way.
What makes this project especially meaningful is how closely the interior reflects the woman behind it — her faith, her care for people, her eye for beauty, and her desire to create something truly personal.
The finished space is layered and feminine, grounded and refined, and above all, deeply felt.

A Look Inside The Gatewood Designs Experience!
Before getting started, our client was feeling overwhelmed by the number of decisions and unsure how to bring her vision to life on her own.
